treats & libations

a compilation of summer recipes

With summer in full swing— kids home, sun, BBQs, fun gatherings, travel and tons of outside time — I wanted to share some easy recipe inspiration.

Enjoy some of my summer favourites — from mocktail libations to afternoon treats, using beautiful doTERRA oils. Here are three cooling libations’ recipes, and two quick and easy snacks — perfect for the whole fam. And remember, stay plenty hydrated with lots of water. I love a good cool down by adding 1 drop Peppermint to my H2O.

Let me know how your recipes go, or tag me on insta! I love to hear from you.

Cooling Libations

Matcha Mint Smoothie

  • 1-2 drops Peppermint essential oil

  • 1 serving cold brew matcha

  • 1 cup milk of your choice

  • Sweeten with maple syrup

  • Liquid chlorophyll (optional)

  • Ice

Blend it up & serve. My fave is matcha brand for cold drinks is Matcha Ninja. Delicious with cashew or coconut milk.

Mocktail G&T

Garnish with wedges of lemon, lime and a sprig of rosemary.

Spicy Watermelon Juice

  • 1/2 small-medium sized watermelon chopped (seedless)

  • 8-10 drops Lime essential oil

  • 1/2 to a full cup of aloe vera leaf juice

  • Liquid cayenne (add slowly and taste test along the way!)

This makes a full pitcher. Adjust recipe accordingly for smaller servings. Blend it up and serve. May sub aloe juice for coconut water, and liquid cayenne for sliced fresh jalapeño.

Summertime Snacks

Lemon Garlic Hummus

  • 1 can chickpeas (garbanzo beans) — rinsed

  • 2-5 cloves of garlic — you decide how garlick-y you love it

  • 1/2 squeezed fresh lemon

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 5-8 drops Lemon essential oil — I’m into the extra zesty

  • 1 drop Rosemary essential oil — this one’s much more potent

  • sea salt & pepper to taste

  • optional chilli oil if you like a little kick for the adults

Blend is all up in a food processor and enjoy. A drizzle of your EVOO for serving with crackers, chips or veggies.

If you decide to go wild and add beets to make a beautiful display like the image above, I WANT to know!

Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream

  • 3-4 large bananas (really ripe), chopped and frozen

  • 3 tbsp peanut butter (or nut butter of your choosing)

  • 4-6 drops Madagascar Vanilla essential oil

  • splash of milk or mylk if too thick

  • pinch of sea salt

  • 1 drop Cinnamon essential oil

  • optional — make it chocolate-y and add 3 tbsp raw cacao powder + cacao nibs for a little crunch!

Give this a whirl — Blend it all up in a food processor and enjoy.
