11 rituals to soothe

during the space between winter & spring

Having plant allies by my side during this time of year, and during this time in the world feels necessary. As contours re-shape, taking care of our own needs is essential — often and in the smallest of ways.

When it feels like so much is coming my way, I reach for my essential oils. They’ve helped carry me for decade — they feel like an antidote. You can reach, too. It’s simple. We like simple. They’re powerful in a moment, and beyond the regulating, uplifting fragrance, they shift us biologically.

Here are 11 mini rituals supporting me right now.

Choose what resonates and leave the rest. You likely have some of these in your dōTERRA collection, or can easily order. If not, create your account with me here.

I am also a brand partner with Counter — sharing what I love. I met Gregg Renfrew in line for a coffee in LA and respect what she is doing, re-creating a clean brand for women my age. I’m thrilled to not have to research products; I know they are cleanest of the clean, efficacious and lovely.

11 Mini Rituals

Morning — Neroli rolled on my palms and inner wrists first thing when I rise to welcome the day and lift my mood when I wake up.

Bath — AromaTouch dropped into Epsom salts. Just had one last night!

Shower — Mint dropped onto your shower floor. SuperMint, Peppermint or Spearmint.

Body — Neroli Nectar Luminous Hydration Body Oil allllll over.

Breasts — Frankincense dropped into body oil and massaged every evening.

Face — Ylang Ylang mixed in with my Vitamin C serum in the morning. Geranium mixed in my evening serum.

Scrapes, pimples, ingrowns — Lavender, dab directly on. Full list of lavender love and ways I use it here.

Diffuser — ShinRin-Yoku in my diffuser for Forest Bathing. With no greenery in Toronto right now, this hits just right.

Diffuser — Madagascar Vanilla on its own. It will surprise you!

Sinus Steam — Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Peppermint dropped on top of boiling water. Tea towel over your head and breathe. Can’t count how many times I’ve steamed my sinuses this winter.

Soothing Stress — Adaptiv on my palms for deep breaths when the girls need loving nurturance & support. Then massage into their hair.

Stay close to yourself in this season — take care as much as you can.

And a note on my Counter cart for a Hydrated Body I shared last week. A few of you purchased, and a few asked if this body ritual with body oil makes my clothes oily, and if I have to “wait” to let it dry — the answer is no. My body soaks in the oil almost instantly, and is very hydrated & happy! Because there is nothing synthetic our skin just drinks it up. I feel moisturized even the next day (miracle). I had to take my hydration into my own hands — I felt like a snake in year of the snake.

Also, a full piece I wrote in that liminal space between Winter and Spring last year on receiving. I wrote it after my hip surgery; I’m almost at my one-year mark. I share more ways I use Adaptive, Neroli, Frankincense, and Shinrin-Yoku here.

With love,
Christine
